At what resolution can photos be sent for printing from the phone?
If you want prints of perfect quality in details and color, it is best to send digital photos by email to contact@stancuprint.org type ARCHIVE, that is if you are good at it. The easiest way to send digital photos for printing from your personal mobile phone is to send them via Signal. However, the quality of the images will be COMPROMISED and it is possible that a physical printed photo will not look good visually. The choice belongs to each individual client.
Is it okay to take a digital photo with my phone from a specific app or directly from my mobile phone's camera?
Our advice is to never use third-party APPS, or take pictures from the SNAPCHAT app. The apps, many of them can take a long digital image like a PANORAMIC or similar. This will ruin the digital image when you want to PRINT it physically at the end. The best option is to take digital photos directly from your personal mobile phone camera.
For the best quality of a physical printed photo, should digital images from your mobile phone be in kilobits or megapixels?
If you want to pay for QUALITY and not QUANTITY, we recommend that the PHOTOS are in MEGAPIXELS and not in KILOBITS. Images saved in MEGAPIXELS have a perfect quality compared to images saved in KILOBITS. This is important, especially if you want prints larger than A4 such as A3, A2 or A1, but it is also valid for small sizes such as 10x15, 13x18 A4.
How can an order be processed at Stancu Print?
We prefer to PROCESS any order ONLINE only, with a minimum of 24 hours notice. Why do we do this? Considering that we are a small FAMILY business with only one person taking care of everything, we can often get caught up in a larger ORDER, which means that we will not be able to handle another ORDER in an extremely short time on the same day. Therefore, we recommend that you carefully read absolutely all the DETAILS on our website, in order to better UNDERSTAND the ORDER process.
What materials are used at Stancu Print?
At Stancu Print, we try to use only the best quality materials, preferably or at least close to them. Why PROPER?, because the costs increase quite a lot every year, and this sets us back a lot, especially since we are an extremely small family business. However, we try as much as we can to maintain a very good QUALITY of the materials from the photographic paper, to the printing machines including the ink.
Can Xerox copies be physically copied and scanned or only in digital PDF format?
Xerox copies can only be printed in digital formats, namely PDF or JPG as appropriate. We do not have a physical SCANNER to scan each document separately. Basically, if you have the document or documents only in DIGITAL format, we can serve you with the order itself.
Do you print on water-based or pigment ink?
For the photographic printing part from standard sizes 3x4, 4.5, 5x5 10x15, 13x18, A4, we use EPSON six-color WATER-based ink. From size A3, A2, A1 from roll or factory pre-cut paper, we use PIGMENT-based ink with four colors CMYBK
Why don't photos come out well when printed from my phone?
The most common CAUSE is that most people use various THIRD-PARTY applications on their personal mobile phone, such as SNAPCHAT, which takes each of your PHOTOS in portrait. In the event that someone wants to print those PHOTOS, they will encounter the problem that they will not come out on the entire sheet of photographic paper, such as the 10x15 cm size for example, which is the most requested size, because the digital image is taken in portrait format. The best advice from Stancu Print is to use the phone's CAMERA directly to take your PHOTOS in perfect quality, both in framing and in high resolution.
Why do I need to take a picture from a distance from the subject with my mobile phone?
The distance is extremely IMPORTANT when you want to take pictures with your mobile phone, only if you are going to PRINT most or some of the pictures. THE DISTANCE is extremely important, because it will FIT perfectly into the photo printer software, when we want to print various sizes. That is why it is important to take into account that DISTANCE, if we want good quality of the physically printed PICTURES and a perfect framing.
Does it matter what paper the physical photos will be printed on and why?
The quality of the photographic PAPER is the most important. This happens because each photographic PAPER has different substrates that ABSORB the ink differently. The most suitable traditional photographic PAPER is the semi-gloss LUSTER photo PAPER. This traditional photo PAPER is somewhere in the middle between GLOSSY and semi-GLOSSY, and is very similar to fine art photographic PAPER, as is the final quality of a final PRINT.
Why do the photo printer, ink, and paper used for printing matter so much?
It is most important to find the perfect COMBINATION when it comes to the original ink to prefer, the high-quality photo printer and the photo PAPER used. This is why the three FACTORS are extremely important. The most commonly used printers for photo printing are Canon and Epson. The ORIGINAL ink for these models is quite expensive, but it can print decently to very well, and with compatible INK. As for the original photo PAPERS they are the best option, but often a photo PAPER with a lower quality level can be a CHEAP option, for customers who just want simple PHOTOS, and do not want to have something of very GOOD quality like the original.
What is semi-gloss (luster) photo paper and why is it ideal for 10x15 cm photos?
Luster photo paper has a matte-to-gloss finish, offering reduced reflections and vivid colors. It is ideal for 10x15 cm photos, as it minimizes fingerprints and excessive gloss, while preserving detail and color depth. It is an excellent choice for portraits and landscapes, providing a professional look and resistance to handling.
What are the advantages of printing photos at 10x15 cm size on glossy paper?
The 10x15 cm size is standard and versatile, perfect for albums, photo frames or sharing. The luster paper adds a touch of elegance and durability. This reduces distracting reflections, providing a pleasant viewing from any angle and protecting the photo from daily wear and tear. It is an optimal combination of quality and practicality.
How does semi-gloss (luster) photo paper affect the colors and contrast of my photos?
Luster paper enhances color reproduction, delivering saturated hues and balanced contrast without being overly shiny. Micro-rough surfaces diffuse light, preventing unwanted glare and maintaining color accuracy. The result is a vibrant image with sharp details and remarkable visual depth, similar to museum finishes.
Is glossy paper resistant to fingerprints and color fading over time?
Yes, the subtly textured finish of luster paper makes it much more resistant to fingerprints and scratches than glossy paper. In addition, modern printing technology on luster paper ensures excellent color durability, protecting photos from fading caused by exposure to light and aging.
Why is pigment ink superior for durable printing on various materials?
Pigment ink contains solid pigment particles that settle on the surface of the material, providing exceptional resistance to water, fading, and abrasion. Unlike water-based ink, which is absorbed into the fibers, pigment creates more vibrant, longer-lasting images on a wide range of surfaces, from photographic paper to textiles and plastics.
What types of materials can I successfully print on using pigment ink for long-lasting results?
Pigment ink is ideal for printing on non-porous and semi-porous materials such as glossy and matte photo paper, canvas, vinyl, PVC, stickers and some types of fabric. It provides excellent adhesion and increased resistance to environmental factors, making it perfect for signage applications, fine art, archival photography and personalized products.
How does pigment ink help reduce long-term costs for printing projects?
While the initial cost of pigment ink may be slightly higher, its superior durability reduces the need for reprinting due to fading or fading. This translates into significant savings in the long run, especially for applications that require exposure to light or moisture. The reliability and longevity of pigment ink images add considerable value.
What advantages does eco-solvent ink printing offer compared to UV?
Eco-solvent inks are often more affordable and offer a wide range of applications, including banners, stickers and vehicle graphics. They are known for their vibrant colors and good scratch resistance on certain materials. The drying process is natural, without the need for additional UV equipment, which reduces initial costs and energy consumption. They are ideal for flexible materials and can provide a smoother feel.
When should I choose UV ink printing over eco-solvent?
UV printing is superior for applications that require extreme durability and resistance to fading outdoors. UV inks dry instantly under UV light, allowing printing on a much wider range of rigid and flexible substrates, including metal, glass, wood and acrylic. The result is a thick ink layer with excellent adhesion and superior resistance to abrasion and chemicals, ideal for signs, billboards and promotional items.
Are there significant differences in the durability of images printed with the two types of ink?
Yes, there are notable differences in durability. UV prints are known for their exceptional resistance to weathering, fading and abrasion, resulting in a longer lifespan in outdoor applications. Eco-solvent inks offer good durability, but can be more susceptible to degradation in extreme conditions, such as prolonged exposure to intense sunlight or rain. Lifespan also depends on the substrate used and the application of protective lamination.
What are the environmental and health considerations associated with eco-solvent and UV inks?
Eco-solvent inks have lower volatile organic compounds (VOCs) than traditional solvents, making them less harmful to the environment and operators. UV inks are VOC-free and dry by polymerization rather than evaporation, making them considered more environmentally friendly. However, both types require adequate ventilation in work areas and safe handling to prevent exposure to chemicals.
What makes a traditional photo paper "higher quality" and how does it improve my photos?
Premium photo paper is distinguished by its weight, fade resistance and a specialized coating that absorbs ink evenly. This delivers exceptional color reproduction, sharp details and deep contrast, transforming digital images into tangible prints with remarkable depth and clarity, far superior to regular paper.
What are the durability advantages of traditional photo paper compared to other printing options?
Traditional high-quality photo paper is designed to last. Its archival materials and protective coatings resist fading, yellowing, and damage from light or moisture over time. This ensures that your precious memories remain vibrant and intact for decades, making it a valuable investment in preserving special moments.
Are there different types of premium photo paper finishes and which is best for portraits, landscapes or art?
Yes, there are different finishes: glossy for vivid colors and high contrast, matte for low reflection and a classic look, satin/luster for a balance between the two. For portraits, matte or satin are ideal; for landscapes, glossy or satin bring out the colors, and for art, it depends on the desired effect, with matte often preferred for depth.
What printing equipment is recommended to achieve the best results on traditional high-quality photo paper?
For optimal results on premium photo paper, a high-resolution inkjet printer with pigment-based inks is essential. These inks offer superior water and fade resistance, maximizing the quality and durability of your prints. Be sure to use the correct ICC profiles to reproduce colors accurately.
Is Luster paper more expensive?
The price is extremely competitive and very close to that of Glossy or Matte papers. The cost difference is negligible compared to the huge leap in quality, durability and visual experience. It is a minor investment for a huge value.
Is it good for black and white photos?
Yes, it's great! With its deep black levels and subtle texture, Luster paper gives black-and-white photos superb contrast and a rich range of gray tones, avoiding the flat look that matte paper can sometimes give.
Can I write on the back of photos printed on Luster paper?
Absolutely. Unlike some plastic-backed papers, the back of our traditional paper allows writing with most instruments, so you can write down the date, location, or a personal message.
